What is Breast Health

In Hong Kong, one in every 15 women has the chance to develop breast cancer during her lifetime.

Breast cancer is often referred to as the top cancer among women, and women between the ages of 45 and 80 are considered to be at a higher risk of developing breast cancer. In comparison to the median age of 62 in the United States and 60 in Australia, the median age of breast cancer diagnosis in Hong Kong is 56, indicating that patients are relatively younger. According to data*, a total of 792 women died from breast cancer in 2022, accounting for 12.5% of female cancer-related deaths. This is a statistic that cannot be ignored.

Cancer, as a deadly disease, is mainly caused by being detected in advanced stages. According to the data from the Chinese Cancer Registry Annual Report, only 5.2% of patients are diagnosed with breast cancer through regular screenings, while 82.1% of patients are diagnosed when they actively seek medical attention due to noticeable symptoms, which often indicates the cancer is already in its late stages.

With advances in treatment methods, the five-year survival rate for early-stage cancer can reach 80-90%. However, the average detection rate for early-stage cancer is only 20-30%. The main reason is that early-stage cancer (lesions below 5mm) often has inconspicuous symptoms, and neither ultrasound nor X-ray examinations are very effective in detecting abnormal cells.

Stage 0

There is no evidence of cancer cells or non-cancerous abnormal cells breaking out of the part of the breast in which they started, or getting through to or invading neighboring normal tissue.

Five-year survival rate

Over 99.3%

Stage I

The tumor measures up to 2 cm and the cancer has not spread outside the breast; no lymph nodes are involved.

Five-year survival rate

99.3%

Stage II

The tumor is larger than 2 cm but no larger than 5 cm; cancer has spread to 1 to 3 axillary lymph nodes or to lymph nodes near the breastbone

Five-year survival rate

Over 99.3%

Stage III

The tumor is larger than 5 cm; small groups of breast cancer cells (0.2–2 mm) are found in the lymph nodes

Five-year survival rate

76.2%

Stage IV

Invasive breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast and nearby lymph nodes to other organs of the body, such as the lungs, distant lymph nodes, skin, bones, liver, or brain.

Breast Biorhythm Monitoring System

By utilizing the principle of cellular metabolic heat changes, cellular data is collected through smart sensors. The data is then uploaded to a cloud database for comparative analysis. After the analysis, the report is downloaded to the user’s mobile phone, providing health risk alerts and recommendations. Users can choose the next medical examination based on their needs, enabling home-based breast health risk management.

"Monthly data reports are provided, allowing individuals to monitor their testing results and find reassurance in their health status."
